Day 1. About four days ago i disconnected my battery so the CEL would go away for a bit.(Didn't want dad to see.) Took her to fill gas up. Everything all good. NO cel

Day 2. drive around a bit that day(43 miles) still didn't get a CEL.

Day 3. Drove around for a bit(25 miles) then CEL came back on. =[ Then drove about another 45miles.

Day 4. Today i woke up. Started the scion and there was no CEL to be seen!!! Reluctant i was, but then i questioned this good fortune. I drove to school with no problems.(14 miles.) Then i drove back home, right wheni pull in my driveway, the CEL comes back on.

WTH is happening!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Someone please, diagnose the situation.

*Yes i do have aftermarket headers and have done the anti-foul with conquer.*

The easiest way to find out what CEL code you have is by going to the dealer or to a performance shop or even an autozone. It could be that you have a O2 sensor that crapping out on you.

Yeah, get the code and post it up. My guess would also be the O2 sensor. If the heating element is going up, it could be turning on and off throwing the code sporadically. Then again, it could be something completely unrelated.

What kinda header do you have? I have the exact same problem, but nowadays the CEL doesn't come on as often as it did before.

Looks like Megan ceramic coated from the picture. You can barely see the edge of where all 4 runners merge where the primary CAT would be on the stock manifold.

The way you described it, it could be the gas cap. It won't necessarily come on right after you get gas but it will come on while it's setting all the readiness counters. Those are systems that take mileage to reactivate and begin to work properly. B/c you disconnected the battery, sometimes it can take over 100 miles for each system to reset. Tighten your gas cap firmly, then take it to Autozone. If it's an EVAP leak and you haven't touched anything else in the engine, then most likely it's the gas cap. If it's something else, just post it and we'll go from there.

Sorry, i've been busy with school things this weekend. I got the

[b]P0420- Low Catalyst Efficiency.

So what i did was add another anti-foul to my s-pipe. So i have a total of three now. Has anyone had success with the megan headers and no cel? I hope this works out for me, otherwise, i might have to put the stock headers on.

18mm Anti-Foul Help! Part# 42002

You can get this at any autoparts store.

You drill about an half-inch hole in one anti-foul. After that is done, take the drilled one and screw it on top of the normal one. Then take the o2 sensor off the s-pipe. Screw in the anti-fouls into the s-pipe, and then put the o2 sensor on the anti-fouls.

I hear that DC sports header only need to anti-fouls. As for megan, like mine, i used three. =]
